This is the same course previously called “Inductive Bible Study.”

Anyone can enroll; no previous theological training is needed. We want to equip those who are interested with tools to get the most out of studying the Scriptures.

• You can enroll in the course from anywhere in the world and attend the 6-week course online via Zoom. 

• We will meet once a week on Monday evenings (only), starting August 14 (7pm ­– 9pm ET).

• The class will run from Monday, August 14 until Tuesday September 18, 2023. Note that there will be no class on Monday, September 4 in honor of Labor Day.

This Inductive Bible Study course explores crucial issues in biblical interpretation, including the following:

• The history and formation of the biblical canon

• Differences between Bible translations

• How social location and contextual framework inform our reading of Scripture

• How to engage different biblical genres

• Practical tools for studying the Bible for personal growth and Christian formation

The course offers an approach to studying Scripture that progresses from observation to interpretation and then to application – both general and specific. The method we will teach can be applied to any passage in the Bible. The course will enhance both personal study and preaching/teaching preparation.
