Our friend Nora (age 6) generously donated the proceeds of her lemonade stand to our homeless services.

Never underestimate the power one simple but creative act of kindness can have on our community. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. explained, “You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

Thank you for your love, service, and generosity, Nora!

Your Donation Helps Us:

2025 is the URC’s eighth year, filled with fresh opportunities. We are energized about what lies ahead. This year, we plan to:

  • Expand our youth arts program (IYAP) to introduce ISTREAM: Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

  • Resume youth programming in Virginia Beach while enhancing our offerings in Norfolk.

  • Extend our employment services to support women who are survivors of human trafficking.

  • Create more volunteer opportunities for local churches to galvanize their congregations for greater community involvement.

  • Host insightful lectures from area university professors in the Race in America Forum series.

  • Strengthen our collaboration with pastors from the Norfolk Senior Pastors’ Roundtable to create a more potent collective witness for the common good.

  • Launch an urban healthy eating campaign to address hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and more.

  • Expand the Hope Movement for families that have suffered loss due to the violence epidemic. This includes the Evening of Hope Event and other outreach efforts for grief support.
