Built on the same processes as VBthrive, NFKthrive provides coaching to Norfolk residents to guide them as they advance their goals, whatever they may be, and position themselves toward greater self-sufficiency.
The program will focus on providing support to the nearly 90,000 families in Norfolk who qualify as ALICE and are struggling to make ends meet. NFKthrive is partnering with the City of Norfolk and the Urban Renewal Center to support these individuals and families in five critical areas:
Mentoring
Housing
Employment & Education
Financial Management
Well-being
HOW IT WORKS
Referral & Intake:
After we receive your referral, you'll meet one-on-one with your mentor so they can assess your needs.Care Coordination:
With support from your mentor, you will set and achieve goals and be referred to community resources.Closing the Loop:
Your mentor will support you biweekly and you will receive incentives for each goal you accomplish.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Resident of Norfolk, VA
Safely and stably housed
18-years-of-age or older
Have a child enrolled in school or daycare
Meet the criteria of ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed population (see FAQ sheet)
