LEARNING & GROWING TOGETHER!

Dr. Cassandra L. Newby-Alexander and Dr. Stephanie J. Richmond, lecturing on the history of Norfolk’s participation in the slave trade.

Throughout the year, we offer forums on several topics. For instance, we have hosted forums on religion and politics, gentrification, the slave trade, the opioid epidemic and more. Spring 2024, the URC partnered with the Harris Institute to convene a colloquy at the University of Oxford. The colloquy was the second of several annual travel master classes we convene.

The URC also hosts online small seminar-type courses via zoom that focus on some element of faith in the public square, Scriptural interpretation, and other specialized topics. These courses are not for academic credit. However, they may serve as continuing education or support congregational formation at some churches.

You may enroll as an individual. Or, you may share our community of learning opportunities with churches or organizations for special group pricing. These virtual courses are wonderful opportunities to immerse in seminars on topics of interest for either personal enrichment or congregational formation.
