Oxford Master Class (deposit)
Join us spring 2023 at Harris-Manchester College at Oxford University for a master class, a colloquium in partnership with the The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute.
The Urban Renewal Center (URC) is partnering with The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute for a life-long learning opportunity March 20-23, 2023. We will convene ministers, lay-leaders, community leaders, and scholars at Oxford University in the UK for a one-of-a-kind international colloquium designed to explore Spirit-filled, Christ-centered studies concerning the notion of Christian nationalism, racial disparities, and to advance conciliatory practices for a more just society. During this high-quality residential experience, participants will be classified as resident delegates at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, and they will be invited to submit and discuss a paper, deliver an oral presentation, respond to a paper or oral presentation, moderate a discussion or simply attend. Upon completion, all resident delegates will receive a frame-worthy certificate from Oxford University.
This Master Class at Oxford will be the launching of the URC’s Learning Community of Scholar-Practitioners (LCSP). The mission of this initiative is to advance moral thought, voice, and social action, to develop collaborative relationships, to deepen spiritual reflection, and to enhance a Christian perspective on what it means for people of faith to lead in the advancement of a Beloved Community of unity in diversity.
Cost, including private en suite accommodation at the College, three meals per day, and session materials is $2,000 per person. $500.00 per person deposit required upon acceptance to the program. The deposit will be applied to the total cost. Spouses may audit or matriculate. If they travel to Oxford with no participation in the colloquium, they must register as non-participant. Their total cost for the four days in Oxford is $1,000 (co-rooming, meals, etc). If spouses register to participate as a resident delegate, the accompanying spouse registration cost is $1,500 (co-rooming, meals, and colloquium participation). All travel expenses and additional rooming needs in London before and after the Master Class are the sole responsibility of participants.
